FACILITATORS
Meet The Team

I have a B.S. in biology, and I like to joke that I am now working indefinitely on a PhD in Unschooling, which is a fancy way of saying I have a lot of varied interests. I have been a community-based lactation counselor both here and in suburban Chicago for about 14+ years while facilitating the unschool adventures of my own 4 children at home after a few years of less-than-ideal experiences in compulsory schools with my two oldest daughters.

Upon discovering the Sudbury Valley School and the Agile Learning Centers model, I dreamed of creating such a place in Fresno for local families. Bungalow Lane ALC is a manifestation of that dream.
My most important qualification as an Agile Learning Facilitator is that I love and trust children. My job is not to teach, but to partner with kids in their learning to scaffold and support their interests, trusting that the 3Rs will take care of themselves. (spoiler alert: they do.)

I am a mother of two amazing self-directed learners. I have been unschooling/deschooling since 2016. I have my M.A. in School Psychology and worked in the conventional school settings (preschool-high school) for over 10 years.

I love watching children grow and believe we are all continually learning and ever changing. The Bungalow supports this belief to the fullest and has been a blessing to my family. It's a place where kids can be kids and have freedom to explore the world around them.

I'm a full time Mother of three boys and I know how important it is to support their very different learning styles.

I have a B.A. in Film and I've worked in production on various films and commercials across the U.S. Coming from a creative background I have experienced first hand how children can thrive if they have opportunities to exercise creativity. I am also an experienced Yoga teacher. I have taught both adult and children's yoga classes. The best part about teaching a children's yoga class was watching them use their imaginations to create new poses, but I also learned how important movement is for a child's development.

Bungalow Lane ALC holds a special place in my heart. It has a very special location as it was previously a renowned nursery school here in Fresno (Nosworthy's Nursery School and later Blanche and Moria's Nursery school.) I had the chance to explore this place as a child when my sister attended back in 1988. And again when my son started attending in 2016. The school's space is still just as magical now as it was back then.

It has given me a chance to help create an ideal place where my children can learn and explore. Here they have the opportunity to learn things at their own pace, on their own terms.

I've been homeschooling (relaxed homeschooling/unschooling) my four children for the past 9 years. I've worked with children my whole life from being an only child playing with the "little kids" to babysitting and teaching PE in highschool. As a young adult I was a Camp Counselor, tutor, nanny, swim teacher, gymnastics coach, led an after school drama club and taught in a Montessori Preschool.
In the last 9 years of homeschooling I've been a part of three different charter schools, two co-ops and was the Children's Ministry Director at the church I attend.
After meeting Jenny, Miranda and Manny and hearing their vision for The Bungalow, I just had to be apart of it!
I love and respect children as individuals and feel that The Bungalow gives them the freedom to enjoy learning and to be who they were created to be.
