Vision
Our vision is to model a world in which children are free and trusted to learn and grow, self-directed, at their own pace, with the support of a loving community.
Mission
Our mission in pursuit of that vision is to build a thriving community of people reflecting Fresno’s diversity of races, ages, physical abilities, ethnicities, religious practices, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, and gender expressions.

We use our practices of Self-Directed Education to name and disrupt racism, classism, ageism, sexism, homophobia, and all forms of oppression as we care for ourselves, one another, our wider community, and all humans.

We support Self-Directed Education in an environment that encourages children to create activities and experiences that help them make connections and design their own learning path. Through empathy-based communication, trust-centered decision making, shared and visible workload, and the cultural work of deschooling, we intend to liberate self and community from stories of domination to become a possibility for others on the path towards collective freedom.
We believe children are people, and people should be free.
